Moore Family (Mark Moore - Teaching Elder)


Mark Moore is a native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and Knox Theological Seminary, and Okinawa Covenant Church’s first pastor.  He is an ordained Teaching Elder in the Southeast Alabama Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America.  His wife, Jennifer, grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Mark and Jennifer met in Germany, married, and then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for seminary.  They moved to Okinawa in 2009.  They have four children: Natalie, Mark, Hannah and Micah.  Mark is also a chaplain in the Air Force Reserve




Chet Hutchinson is from Gainesville, GA, and a graduate of Covenant College and Saint Louis University School of Law.  Chet has served in the Army for 7 years.  His wife, Erin, grew up in St. Louis, MO and Edinburgh, Scotland.  They met as students at Covenant College and married in 2006.  They moved to Okinawa in 2018.  They have four children: Harkins, Cedar, Fin, and Reli.


norseen Family (John Norseen - Deacon) 


John Norseen grew up in Kennesaw, GA, but has roots in western Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penn State where he met his wife, Bethany. Together they have one son - Erik. Bethany and John have been in Okinawa since 2016 and are in the Air Force and the Marine Corps respectively. 


Peter Family (Jerry peter - Deacon) 


Jerry Peter is from Burke, VA, and is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the university’s Corps of Cadets. Having served in the Marine Corps for nearly a decade, Jerry has had his wife, Adi, along for every step of that journey. Currently stationed in Okinawa, Jerry, Adi, and their daughter, Robin, enjoy travel and all that the island beach life offer.
